Apprenticeships

An Apprenticeship gives you a paid job and the chance to get your qualifications – with no student debt, plenty of bespoke professional support and the chance to get your career off to a flying start.

Traineeships

Traineeships are designed help young people who want to get an apprenticeship or job but don’t yet have appropriate skills or experience.

About Skills for Growth

We at Skills for Growth offer a personalised local service across London from our three sites at Stratford, Woolwich and Bexleyheath.

As a charity with ‘skills’ at our very heart we seek to improve the lives of young people through our work with local employers, recruiting apprentices, and helping support young people in finding the ladder of opportunity to a sustainable and positive career.

You can earn and learn across a variety of exciting sectors and jobs, improving your skills, gaining valuable experience and boosting your career goals.

Entry requirements

Apprenticeship:

You have to be aged 16 years or over and must be working a minimum of 30 hours per week. You also need to be a resident in England and not in full-time education.

This qualification is suitable for those already in full-time employment as well as those wishing to enter full-time employment.

Traineeships:

You have to be aged 16 years or over, and qualified below Level 3. You could be suitable if you are motivated to work, unemployed, or work fewer than 16 hours per week and have little work experience.

Benefits of training with Skills for Growth

Skills for Growth work hard to ensure that we give you the opportunity to show us all of your skills, not just your qualifications. We will assess your communication, presentation, employability and team work skills as well as your level of Maths and English.

This means that you will be offered the programme or Apprenticeship that is best for you and will allow you to progress at an appropriate pace.

You will have an opportunity to work towards Maths and English qualifications whilst undergoing a Traineeship or Apprenticeship at Skills for Growth.

You will have a dedicated assessor or tutor who will be able to give you all the support you need to ensure you achieve your qualifications, improve your employability skills, complete your apprenticeship and reach your full potential!
