Vocational Qualifications

As part of the Foundations programme you will have the opportunity to work towards up to 5 different qualifications at various levels depending on your individual abilities and interests. You will work towards developing your functional skills in ICT, Maths and English. You will also complete a qualification in personal and social development and work towards one vocational qualification depending on demand from the list below:

Vocational Qualifications

NCFE Employability Skills:
Available at Entry Level 3 and Level 1

The Award and Certificate in Employability Skills is a qualification which allows you to explore a broad range of essential skills. These include job search skills, personal preparation for employment, self improvement and effective behavior at work.

NCFE Award in Sport and Leisure
Available at Level 1

Skills for Growth is pleased to have developed close links with the Charlton Athletic Community Trust with whom this qualification will be delivered.  This qualification will be delivered at the Charlton Athletic Community Trust training grounds in Eltham (Transportation will be provided from Skills for Growth to the training ground each week).
The NCFE Level 1 certificate in Sport and Leisure studies is an ideal qualification if you are considering seeking employment within the sport and leisure industry. It also provides a sound basis for progression on to further study.

Edexcel BTEC Construction
Available at Entry Level 3 and Level 1

Do you know that the construction industry is the fifth largest employer in the country with over 1.5 million employees in a vast range of occupations?

It is a dynamic industry that is at the forefront of developing and implementing new processes and techniques and in the use of high-tech materials and equipment.

These qualifications have been designed to help you understand all aspects of construction and the skills required to work successfully in the industry. You will gain the skills, knowledge and understanding through a wide range of practical activities and will also develop your employability skills through working as a team, meeting deadlines and communicating with each other.

Edexcel BTEC Business Administration
Available at Entry level 3 and Level 1

These are practical qualifications, designed around the needs and interests of the learner. The units will introduce you to the basic business administration principles, how to behave in an office environment and how to use office equipment. You are encouraged to develop their employability skills including independent skills, time management, communication skills, research skills and teamwork.

Edexcel BTEC Caring for Children
Available at Entry Level 3 and Level 1

The award and certificate in Caring for Children is a qualification which gives you the opportunity to develop an understanding of how to care for young children. You will understand how to respect and value children as individuals, how to tell stories, plan musical and creative experiences and keep children safe.

City and Guilds Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector
Available at Entry Level 3 and Level 1

Designed to build on your interest and passion for the hair and beauty industry, an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector provides you with an ideal, practical introduction to prepare you for further learning or training. You will gain the skills, knowledge and understanding through a wide range of practical activities and you will also develop your employability skills through working as a team, meeting deadlines and communicating with each other.

Personal and Social Development
Available at Entry Level 3 and Level 1

The aim of these qualifications are to recognize and develop a range of personal and social skills by encouraging and supporting you in developing your personal skills to compliment learning in other areas (for example vocational learning and/or Functional Skills).
You will do this by developing personal and social skills and to have them formally recognized. You will build up your achievements in a way which is appropriate and meaningful for you through a range of practical activities.
