Schools Programme
Skills for Growth works with a range of local schools to deliver alternative vocational curriculum to pupils aged 14-16 in years 10 and 11. This programme is a great building block for those who are interested in the vocational route and learning the skills needed to help them succeed in their chosen profession. Many who undertake this programme choose to progress onto a full time Apprenticeship. Their options are however still open to pursue 6th Form or further education.
Skills for Growth offers a flexible day release service to suit the needs of the school whereby learners attend the Skills for Growth facilities 1 day per week. Here they are taught by fully training teaching professionals who are highly skilled in the vocational area being taught. They will study towards a nationally recognised qualification which can form part of the Foundation Learning curriculum.
Qualifications currently available include:
- Level One Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector
- City & Guilds Entry Level Award in Caring for Children (Entry 3)
