Children's Care Learning and Development Apprenticeship
Children’s Care Learning & Development Apprenticeships have been specially designed by the sector professionals including employers to provide you with a nationally recognised qualification that will promote the wellbeing of every child in the 0 to 16 age range.
The Apprenticeship is a wide-ranging programme of learning which introduces you to the principles and values of the sector and will also encourage professional practice while you are working as a nursery or play group assistant.
You will be encouraged to take on responsibility as part of your job role which will involve awareness of safety and security, child observations, preparing for daily routines and activities as well as encouraging children’s development through social, physical and intellectual activities. This will be done with some guidance or supervision.
On progression to an Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3) you will build on knowledge and experience gained during your time as an Apprentice.
Responsibility and professional good practice is encouraged through research and the application of knowledge with regard to policy and legislation, child observation and their development.
You will apply theoretical findings to encourage progress and manage behaviour. Ideally your role will provide the opportunity for supervisory responsibility which may include working as a team or room leader.
Level 2 Children's Care Framework:
Level 2 Certificate for the Children & Young Peoples Workforce (QCF)
There is no need for a Technical Certificate as the QCF qualification is combined knowledge & competence.
